For what it's worth: There is a lot of conversation concerning individual military records and I just recieved some very interesting records. A few months ago I sent a request to the National Personnal Records Center, Military Personnel Records, 9700 Page Ave., St. Louis MO., 63132-5100, asking for all records they had on me; in fact the words I used were, any piece of paper or document that had my name on it. An amazing amount of paper just arrived. It certainly isn't everything generated by the A.F., but there are a number of documents that are absolutely facinating! My original enlistment papers, several performance evaluations, etc. There is even the personal letter f…

This is a great video with outstanding photos. It is several minutes long but it is very professionally done and it brings back many memories of the USAF we care so much about. Flying photos are superb. http://www.media-magik.com/usaf.html

I've seen pictures of the first 2 ex USCG HC-130H's converted and flying for the USFS. 1721 now wears 118 and 1708 now wears 116. The FAA has some N Numbers reserved for the USFS including N118Z and N116Z, but they are not registered with the FAA yet and show no N numbers. My question is why are they not registered and why do they not have N numbers? anyone know? Thanks Bob

Thought I'd start up a thread to track KC-130J deliveries to the Marines. My latest data shows: 5631 168074 Delivered Oct to VMGR-152, spotted in South Korea 5632 168075 Delivered Sep to VMGR-152, spotted in Japan That makes 38 delivered out of 46 ordered. Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) is based at MCAS Futenma (ROTM) in Japan. They are slated to operate 15 KC-130Js by Sept 2011. 5644 168065 #14, might be in flight test 5645 168066 #15

Any of you guys used the USN OPARS system for flight planning. It performs Route Optimization including off airways. I\'m interested in hearing pro\'s / con\'s etc. in comparison to other systems including civilians systems. Cheers, ST

I heard that the second oldest, by Bureau number, aircraft in the USN/USMC inventory KC130F 147573 is heading from VMGR-152 to AMARC this weekend. It is the last operational KC130F. There are still 5 KC130F\'s involved in testing and 2 NC130F\'s in testing. THe NC\'s were KC\'s and I think they are drone launchers but I am not sure. The oldest aircraft in their inventory is 144670, an NU-1B Otter, at the Test Pilot School at Patuxet. Bob

I had an appointment at the AV Hospital yesterday May 4th. As always I went to have my travel pay papers approved then took them to turn in and get my pay. While in line with about 20 others I noticed where the travel pay was the same, but ther was a $6.00 deduction from the total. I mentioned it kinda loud and the 20 other vets in the line all said there was the same deduction on their vouchers. When I got to the pay window I ask the paymaster and she said that congress had voted on it and that was all she knew. I didn't voice my thoughts to her cause I know she is only doing her job. Anyone else know anything about this??? PS. My spell Check is lost and I don't…

I\'m hoping someone here might have an answer to a VA question. My brother got discharged from the AF 2 years ago. His DD214 says that because the AF did not take care of his wisdom teeth while he was in that the VA will cover his teeth. So he called the VA and they told him that he should have applied within 90 days of separating. This was not something he was in all his transition briefings so he\'s trying to find out if the VA is full of crap (in this instance at least). I\'m hoping somebody might have had some experience with them with something similar. Thanks for the help. quietus

I don't know if I have posted this photo on here or not - I don' think I have. I took it at Recife, Brazil in July or August 1965. It's one of the first A-models. It went to Systems Command and when I saw it was being used to support downrange missile shots from Patrick. If you want to make prints from it, feel free.

Happy Veteran's Day to all. Just started a Wall Of honor at the Middle School where I teach. Very intersting pictures. I will post a picture after it is completed. Already have one that I knew. Lyn McIntosh. His son is a teacher here.

I checked Snoops.com and couldn't find anything on this there. I know who I won't be sending $$ to anymore. See this web site for ratings: http://oversight.house.gov/documents/20071213131834.pdf Among other things, the rating chart shows fund raising costs per $100 raised for each charity. Some of the figures are truly shocking! Americans gave millions of dollars in the past year to veterans charities designed to help troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, but several of the groups spent relatively little money on the wounded, according to a leading watchdog organization and federal tax filings. Eight veterans charities, including some of the nation's larg…

While there was only 5 of us on the crew it took thousands to get is in and keep us in the air. I want to thank all the Crew Chiefs that made sure we had a good airplane each day. They stayed as log as it took to get the airplane back in the "Green". Thanks to all the MX guys that fixed the planes we "broke". The fuelers that topped us off. The list goes on forever. For ever one of us that had wings there was 50,000 to support us. I especially want to thank the great Pilots that brought me home every night. I was 19 and thought these guys were old men..Most were in their late 20s. Happy veterans day to all of you.
