Problem : Hi! I am technician of BAF 61-0962 C-130B aircraft. Presently we are operating in MONUSCO, Dr Congo under United Nations. The TCAS system of our aircraft is CAS - 81.I am having a problem with this type of TCAS system. The problem is that TCAS shows opposite traffic its original position. In details, the position of the intruder is left of own aircraft but TA/VSI shows right and the position of the intruder is right of own aircraft but TA/VSI shows left.

Hey....hery world. I have a problem with One of our new, OH prop ( No 2 posn)which is fail to pitch lock. Synchrophaser operation ck, slave follow both 2 and 3 master, RPM goes upto 104.5% fuel flow also 1400-1350 but rpm does not reduce like no 3 prop which is pitch lock SAT with the throttle movement with check switch is actuated. Low pitch stop adjusted, pitch lock regulator replaced, no joy. TD controlling unsat. Any suggestion.

Hello Fire extinguisher Squib Herks expertise. Life cycle of C-130B/E model aircraft Squib is not mentioned neither TOs 1C-130H-2-26JG-20-1 nor IC-130B-2-10 and IC-130B-2-7. but life of squib is mentioned in Service news in Vol 18,no1 which is not applicable in our fleet. any T.O which provides guide line for life of squib ,installed on Hercules aircraft. any expert opinion Munir Abbasi Home of Hercules Pakistan

Hello World Power plant expertise of T-56 A-15 Engine parameter cross the limitation TIT 1100 Celsius, Torque 20000 inch pounds fuel flow meter also cross limitation and could not control by throttle movement. Enine was shutdown as per procedure lay down -1 can some body explain what is the reason behind it and can we run the engine to repeat the defect without rectification. Best Regards Munir Abbasi

Good evening house. Our C130H aircraft returned back today from an FCF after an unsuccessful air start. NTS check was successful and the engine feathered with a cruise engine shutdown procedure. However, when on airstart following the stated procedures, the airstart went well until 60% RPM when all engine parameters wound down to zero and consequently prompted an immediate feather. A restart was attempted on the ground and was successful. We have consulted our troubleshooting manuals but found nothing so if anyone has a suggestion to correct this problem would be appreciated. Right Aux fuel quantity indicator goes offscale when empty I am currently experiencing a situation where my RH aux FQI indicator goes high off scale in flight whenever my RH aux tank fuel becomes empty. The model is C-130H series. Can someone pls help

RNZAF C130H keeps shearing towbar pins. We found that the NWS steering indicator feed back drive chain in upper indicator dial had stiff links and stuck during travel and we thought that this was not allowing steering valve teeter totter arm to cycle whilst towing and causing a lock thus shearing towbar pins. We lubed chain and it appeared to fix problem but now the shearing has reoccured. Has anyone had this problem. We have not changed valve. It naturally does not do it with arm disconnected. NWS rigging i.e cable tension correct and even and teeter totter arm correct. The NWS operates as required when on skid plates. Cheers Kal

Hello, I am a maintaner for a C-130H that lives in a museum, i want to make sure she gets well maintained and so i am learning as much as i can about the C-130. Apart from that, said museum also has a simulator: I noticed during a few startups that the SEC fuel pump press light goes out before the start valve open light goes out. However during startup callouts; FE calls: Indicator, fuel flow, lightoff, Oil Pressures, hydraulics, Parralel,(starter), Valve, Series Is this normal behavior? I know start valve light can take up to 15 seconds to go out but should the calls then be Series, Valve? Note: i might have forgotten to tur…

The air crew were detailed to carr out a regular cargo msn on route Bunia to goma in C-130B ac ser no 0962.During the takeoff roll,after 60 knots, capt shifted his hand to flt con leaving the nose wh steering as the normal procedure. but at about 80 knots the ac suddenly swung to the left,the capt immediate decided to abort the msn and ac control by applying differential braking with the help of the co-pltand nose wh steering input. Finaly we suspected that nose steering control valve malfunction during ac speed 80 knots. What might be the reason can anyone inform. Thanks in advance.

The GE voltage regulator burns each time we run the engine. We have replaced 3 voltage regulators and they all got burnt. We also replaced generator. When we installed Bendix, we had high voltage. Anyone with idea of what could be causing this?

I have Prepar 3- 5v flight simulator and have watched Utube videos on start up of the C-130 but could not find an actual written check list procedure as to how to start the 4 engines. Hello! We’ve recently ran into an issue on our C130J with a get home control panel lighting. The panel lights up and is fully operation with external power, however on just battery power the lighting is inop. It will still transmit, but the lighting is completely inop. We’ve ohms checked most associated wiring good, swapped get home control panels, BAU, as well as the emer lighting module to no avail. anyone have any experience with something similar or have any input? thanks!
