Wow, haven't been here in a couple of years but need some help. I have ACTUATOR 1009350-# for overhaul process according to T.O. 8D1-61-2-3. NOTE: "Prior to further reassembly, add a generous amount of high temperature grease (Allube 720, Allube Corporation, Glendale, CA, no known Military Specification), to bearing bores, pinion teeth, Geneva mechanism, and all bearing surfaces of gear assembly (15, 18, 20), gaskets (21, 23), and shaft (22)." I've looked everywhere possible for the "ALLUBE NO. 720" grease and haven't had any luck. I found it to be CAGE 90789 but no longer in business. Wondering if any of you know any equivalent or s.s. in…

I am a medically retired Marine that is working on a book, that uses a Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules as a primary method of transportation for a special operations team. Despite having ridden in, and jumped out of, quite a few C-130's I know enough to know, that I don't know anything about them! Obviously, I am trying to portray the use of the plane and its components in the most accurate light possible, and have some small questions that are honestly probably too unimportant to post here. So, if anyone out there has experience with the model, and wouldn't mind talking shop with someone that knows absolutely nothing about the subject... please mess…

We are currently battling a rudder boost deflection issue on the booster system when in full rudder booster (flaps extended to 50%). During operation of the rudder, pressure deflects down to 2750ish but does recover to 2900. Crew says it must stay in range the whole time. We have changed diverter valve, transmitter, gauge, check valve, and even swapped the snubbers to utility (that shows no deflection) and the problem does not follow. When elevator is pulled off the stops, the deflection only goes from 2900 to 2800 but crew still refuses the aircraft. The aircraft is an 88 H2 model. Thoughts anyone? Boost pack - rudder, elevator, anything else??? Thanks

The GE voltage regulator burns each time we run the engine. We have replaced 3 voltage regulators and they all got burnt. We also replaced generator. When we installed Bendix, we had high voltage. Anyone with idea of what could be causing this?

I am working on a 130J which is converted to a maintenance trainer. after the ramp was lowered to ADS position i found the manual dial set at #5. the ramp locks are extended with the ramp open. I am unable to retract the locks manually. setting the dial at #1 will raise the ramp but will not disengage the locks. basically i am unable to close the ramp. note: that the Elect/HYD function from the Aux pump has been disabled due to our tear-down process. Any ideas would be appreciated. Note: Fault isolation manuals states to replace the manifold.

G'day guys, Got a problem with our flaps. We are getting an asymmetric flap brake condition at approx 10% flaps on extension. We have inspected all flap tracks, screw jacks, rods etc and all look good. Rigging seems to be all within limits. Have checked the switch units at the ends and they are free of moisture and corrosion. Condition is only happening on a steep decent into a higher altitude airport. Any suggestions on where to go from here? We are not wanting to go down the path of a full flap rig if avoidable. Great to be back in the best forum! Have a great C130 day, Tez.

Hello, I'm an engineer working on Pallet Loaders/K-Loaders. I want to understand about the cargo loading and unloading procedures, specifically the use of Pallet Loaders and forklifts. When is a pallet loader used and when is a forklift used? Pallet loaders can only provide a horizontal movement of the pallets from and to the aircraft. Since forklifts are required for the vertical movement from and to the dunnage, then why not directly use a forklift to unload the aircraft, one pallet at a time. Thanks in advance for the help.

Good day to you all, I would like to ask the forum for some technical help. I sale a product for cleaning landing gear struts call Strutwipe. It's a 100% lint free tightly woven cotton wipe that is saturated with either MIL-PRF-5606 or MIL-PRF-83282. When I worked for Lockheed back in the 90's, we would use 5606 for the struts. My question to the forum does the newer model C130 still use 5606 or have the struts been upgraded to 83282? Thanks for any help in advance. Best, Mark A&P and Owner of Strutwipe www.strutwipe.com
