Does anyone know the history of the electric valve housings program? We are currently de-modding a bird back to traditional valve housings, and I am interested in the operational history of this program. I understand that there are about 5 birds with this system. I ran this one when it got here, and it ran great. 100% across the board, rock solid. I understand that parts support, troubleshooting/training were factors leading the EPCS\'s demise. The removed components are being \'green tagged\', but I have heard that they are bound for DRMO. Hard to believe...these babies can\'t be cheap.

We have a 74 year C-130H1 with a #2 VHF radio that wil not turn off through SCNS. Turning off SCNS also does not shut off the radio. We have swapped IDCUs, RTs and mounts, and have checked the Power on/off signal wire for continutity and a short to ground. Everything checks out. Also, Bypassing Secure voice has no effect. Has anyone seen this before or have any out of the box ideas? We've got a head scratcher here.

There is normal rotation of the engine fuel flow but no ignition. After replacing ignition relay the engine start normally. But after very few engine starts the ignition relay malfuction again and there is same problem. The question is what causes the ignition relay malfuntion? It is the exciter? the drip valve? the speed sensitive control? the harness? or something else?

I was looking for any information on what are the modifications that could be done on to a herc. For example: the various mod kits that are available and that can be retrofitted onto a herc. Modifications that could be on the hard point on the outer wing (where the refueller pod could also get hooked). The replies would be of great help for me . In anticipation . Thank you.
