I'm looking for a path to follow. Eng writes up TD system inop for a failed temp controlling check. I can get it to correct every time during mx runs and all other TD checks are solid. Has a new amp and Y-boxes good.

What is the approximate fuel consumption of the C-130 APU on the ground under load? I'm interested in data for the H3 and J, if possible, in lb/hour or gal/hour. Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon, the problem is on an 1966 HC-130P acft. We are unable to get the #2 compass within 6 degrees of the #1 compass and the INU. We have replaced every component in the system at least twice, have re-wired the power and directional wires from the flight deck to the terminal board inside the #2 RH leading edge section, and the power wires from the terminal board to the azimuth. Duruing our compass swings, we are very close to not needing adjustment on the east to west alignment on the compensator. However, the north to south adjustment is maxed out. Have been battling this issue for a few months so any help would be great!

I have an Flight Engineer's seat, probably from an E model, that I want to eventually put in a corner of my den. It looks in good shape, but I'm looking for information on it to fix it up. Can anyone give a paint spec, the seat belt & shoulder harness model/type, and any information such as NSN or model of the tracks that it rode on? Thanks.

Hi everyone, After seeing this video, I have some questions. I know that the turboprops of the Herc are constant speed ones, meaning the pitch of the blades is adjusted in order to gain speed. In the video above, a Fat Albert is going through startup procedures. At 0:05 engine No.3 starts up and at 0:43 it seems like the engine is at idle speed. Then at 0:46 the engine increases its RPM which can be heard and seen. This startup procedure is repeated for the engines No.4, No.2 and No.1. When the video reaches 2:11, the engines somehow decrease their RPM. And with this RPM, the Fat Albert starts to taxi. Is there some kind of switch t…

hello C-130 World, 1st During flight, crew noticed an issue with the elevator, needing more force input to stay level. 2nd During flight, crew noticed an issue with the aileron, needing more force input to roll out (they were in a turn). After aborting the mission and turning back, they also noticed more force needed to move the rudder. Controllability check was performed and crew landed normally. history tells us that the technicians mixed H515 with H537 hydraulic oil, the percentages can not be defined. the whole mechanical system is checked, cable tension ect... motion was checked and free of any rubbing hydraulic system will be flush…

Can anyone tell me why our USAF H1's are wired so that you can only see the SCNS mode advisory lights if you turn the nav instrument lighting rheostat up? It turns out that these lights are wired into the dimmer rheostat. So if you were flying during daylight, and you wanted to see the SCNS status lights, you'd have to turn the instrument lights on. This seems wrong to me, especially since the pilot/copilot advisory lights are not wired this way.

First an introduction..... my name id Randie Coulter, I am an aircraft enthusiast and scale modeler. I live in Fort Smith, AR right in the flight path of incoming and outgoing flights to and from KFSM. A lot of those flights are C-130 training flights out of Little Rock. Right out of high school I worked for TBM, Inc. at Sequoia Field, CA just North of Visalia. When I was there, they flew B-17s and F7Fs in fire fighting operations. Later, they acquired 3 C-130A aircraft that were utilized in the same capacity. The company still exists but now resides at Castle in Atwater, CA. They are still operating 1 C-130 and they have another 2 sitting in storage at the Visalia Munici…

We have a bird that has had an alt hold write-up since about 2010. It has been through CWB change in 2014 and a PDM 2016. The fail is that once level flight is established alt hold is engaged, all ann lights req do come on, the plane does not hold alt. It begins to fall. Flight director is good the bars appear on the ADI to pull up or down as needed however the elevators do not move, and there is no trim light to indicate it is trying to correct at all. On the ground it cannot be duplicated with the ttu. All parts have been changed or swapped no change.

Battery Relay With Battery voltage less than 7 volt; is it possible for the battery to be recharged with external ac power? Systematically… is the “Bat. Relay” can only be energized through a good charged battery..? Or it doesn’t matter; as this relay can also be energized through external power for feeding the “Bat.Bus” as well for recharging the battery. Any feedback will be appreciated as we are having an issue of one of the C-130H.
