Wow, haven't been here in a couple of years but need some help. I have ACTUATOR 1009350-# for overhaul process according to T.O. 8D1-61-2-3. NOTE: "Prior to further reassembly, add a generous amount of high temperature grease (Allube 720, Allube Corporation, Glendale, CA, no known Military Specification), to bearing bores, pinion teeth, Geneva mechanism, and all bearing surfaces of gear assembly (15, 18, 20), gaskets (21, 23), and shaft (22)." I've looked everywhere possible for the "ALLUBE NO. 720" grease and haven't had any luck. I found it to be CAGE 90789 but no longer in business. Wondering if any of you know any equivalent or s.s. in…

I have a couple questions that maybe you guys can help with. #1- I'm trying to find the part numbers for the flight control gust locks. The ones we have are shoddy homemade types that no one really trusts. We're trying to get the official ones in. So far I've looked through the 00GE and several -4's to no avail. #2- Does anyone know if there's a CAST (Command Aircraft Systems Training) manual for J models? I have one for E/H models, but I'd like to get one for J's if there is such an animal. Thanks.

Not a C-130 problem, a C-12 compass problem on a CASA 212. I am a AF retiree working on an Army contract at Ft Bragg. Worked C-130 Comm/Nav and GAC for 19 years. We defined a problem with our C-12 compass system. Compasses are not synching. Still have a heading flag on the HSI when the needle is centered on the compass controller. At an aircraft heading of 0 degrees, the heading flag on the HSI does not go out until the controller is adjusted to 347 degrees. thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, I need help with these two American airplane portholes. They come from the former NATO Evreux air base. As you know, at that time, on this air base, there were Fairchild C119 then Lockheed C130. These two portholes are 34cm wide. The markings found are: 59 R 12 337501 337592 Hoping you could help me? Thank you so much. Laurent

I am a medically retired Marine that is working on a book, that uses a Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules as a primary method of transportation for a special operations team. Despite having ridden in, and jumped out of, quite a few C-130's I know enough to know, that I don't know anything about them! Obviously, I am trying to portray the use of the plane and its components in the most accurate light possible, and have some small questions that are honestly probably too unimportant to post here. So, if anyone out there has experience with the model, and wouldn't mind talking shop with someone that knows absolutely nothing about the subject... please mess…

We are currently battling a rudder boost deflection issue on the booster system when in full rudder booster (flaps extended to 50%). During operation of the rudder, pressure deflects down to 2750ish but does recover to 2900. Crew says it must stay in range the whole time. We have changed diverter valve, transmitter, gauge, check valve, and even swapped the snubbers to utility (that shows no deflection) and the problem does not follow. When elevator is pulled off the stops, the deflection only goes from 2900 to 2800 but crew still refuses the aircraft. The aircraft is an 88 H2 model. Thoughts anyone? Boost pack - rudder, elevator, anything else??? Thanks

I am working on a 130J which is converted to a maintenance trainer. after the ramp was lowered to ADS position i found the manual dial set at #5. the ramp locks are extended with the ramp open. I am unable to retract the locks manually. setting the dial at #1 will raise the ramp but will not disengage the locks. basically i am unable to close the ramp. note: that the Elect/HYD function from the Aux pump has been disabled due to our tear-down process. Any ideas would be appreciated. Note: Fault isolation manuals states to replace the manifold.
