Anyone on here have Photoshop and, if so, are you good at it? I\'d like to have a photo of an L-100 in Delta Air Lines\' last two color schemes.

Chilean AF Herk 996 was in The Netherlands to pick up equipment for its new F-16\'s. Gerke Hofstra sent this picture of the ramp. I figured it all out but \"ALADOS\", It must be an idiom. Bob [img size=800]http://herkybirds.com/images/fbfiles/images/patriotten__01__1.jpg

Letter to the FAA Federal Aviation Agency, Washington 25, D.C. Gentlemen: I was asked to make a written statement concerning certain events that occurred yesterday. First of all, I would like to thank that very nice FAA man who took my student pilot\'s license and told me I wouldn\'t need it any more. I guess that means that you\'re giving me my full-fledged pilot\'s license. You should watch that fellow though, after I told him all of this he seemed quite nervous and his hand was shaking. Anyway, here is what happened. The weather had been kind of bad since last week, when I soloed. But on the day in question I was not about to let low ceilings and visibility, a…

Just got back from Pope AFB, noticed a couple of the \"new\" Herks are in the local inventory. The tails are sporting a new flash that says \"Bragg-Pope\" with \"AFRC\" also on the tail. I believe the tail# of one of them was 80807. There are still about a dozen C-130E but I\'m not sure of thier flying status. Does anyone know if any reservist are flying from Pope yet?

After weeks of viewing, I have worked out what is the problem of the actual site. I live in a trailer, and use a lap top to access. Particularly in the forum area, all the colours and the print size, make reading much harder for us oldies. Casey can you establish if this can be upgraded. Thanks Col Tigwell

To all you who served in the Vietnam War and the era for that matter, yesterday I was in the parade marking the 25th anniversary of the wall. I know that there are thousands out there who flew the missions, repaired our birds so we could fly, fueled them up, operated the control towers and navcom equipment, rigged up the airdrop loads, cooked food for us,made sure our mail and our pay was taken care of, walked the airfield perimeters with your dogs to protect our planes, cared for us when we were sick, and, Yes, when sometimes we got hurt, crewed the crash rigs and the rescue chooppers, and every other activity that was needed to keep us flying. For all of you, still her…

Bob or others anyone got any information on the location of C-130E 62-1788? It was at CCK then went to Pope and Little Rock in 1999. Is it still alive and well or has it been shipped off to the grave yard. It is the acft that we took into Dalat Cam Lai the last day of the war and got mortored. The plane was wounded really bad but it got us all home safe. Just wondering what the old gal was doing these days. Thanks for any info. Muff Millen

11/14/2007 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- A 44-year-old C-130 with a Purple Heart and more than 29,500 flying hours flew its final combat mission Nov. 13 here. Aircraft 63-7865, belonging to Ramstein Air Base, Germany\'s 86th Airlift Wing and currently assigned to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing here, transported servicemembers and cargo between bases in the region before landing after its final combat sortie. \"It was an honor for me to fly this last combat sortie for 63-7865. It is amazing and humbling to know that this aircraft had an illustrious history and combat record dating back over a quarter century even before I flew it for the first time more than 17 years …

Since I only worked on the A,s the only thing I know about the 4 blade props is they have one blade more than the 3. Did the newer planes take off and climb out better than the A,s? Did they have as much vibration as the A,s? I have assumed they would cruse faster than the A,s, but I don\'t know.

I have a question on the 3 bladed prop. What was the diameter of the prop and did it run a the same speed and torque as the 4 blade model?

So, you\'re a Flight Engineer... A Flight Engineer is a person who passes as an exacting expert on the basis of being able to turn out with prolific fortitude, infinite strings of incomprehensible formulae, which are based on debatable figures, taken from inconclusive experiments carried out with instruments of questionable accuracy by persons of doubtful reliability and obscure mentality, for the express purpose of annoying and confounding a hopelessly comical group of maniacs, referred to altogether too frequently as pilots ...Anonymous So true, so true Greg FE P-3/C-130/KC-97/B727/DC-8/L-188/L1011

Having no experience on the AC-130\'s, this may seem like a stupid question to the Spectre guys. The other night, I watched the movie \"Transformers\" & in one scene, an AC-130H is blowing away some bad guys (Decepticons). There is a brief shot of the cockpit showing what looks like an FE\'s panel on a jet. Who\'s position is it, the nav? It\'s actually a pretty good flick & it\'s the first time since \"Black Hawk Down\" that the DoD has supported a movie. Don R.

It does appear as if not all the RAAF E models have been delivered to the Pakistan Air Force. Will they be affected by the proposed trade sanctions. Does any one know why they have so long in delivery. Regards Col
