Hey there everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that has reasonable priced litho\'s of 130\'s. This is for a going away gift for one of the guys in my shop. I attached a photo of the one that we all agreed on that we\'d like to get him. Thanks in advance for any and all replies and help. I got some pictures of 63-7836 when it was at AMARC before it went to the shredder. It seems that it was set up at one time with on board cameras. It was not a Jackpot, MEAFSA, or Berlin for lunch bunch Herk. It seems to have had a normal trash haul career, so the camera set up seems odd. Anyone have any ideas? I\'ll try to attach the pictures. Bob 7836 was deilivered in 64 and was in Navy MATS until 67. It went to Pope in 67 and Little Rock in 75 and AMARC in 94. [img size=800]http://herkybirds.com/images/fbfiles/images/3906_a.jpg

Was the 3-letter code (the IATA code) for Rhein Main AB FRA or FRF? One is for the air base & the other is for the flughaven, but I can\'t remember which is which. I remember the ICAO code for the air base was EDAF. Thanks, Don R.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/7324341.stm The Coroner\'s Inquest into the loss of XV179 has begun. The Board of Inquiry found that ESF may have prevented the loss. The Coroner\'s Inquest will examine that possibility thoroughly. Here in the US, there is no equivalent to a Coroner\'s Inquest - the closest thing is probably a grand jury. The coroner has incredible power during his investigation & his charge is to find the cause of the death. This isn\'t Quincy, ME like we think of when we think of coroner, it\'s something entirely different. I lost a few friends in that crash - I hope they receive fair representation.

In the current Picture of the Week, I see four C-130A models, and just beyond the last herk, there is an airplane with a pointed nose and perhaps a swept vertical stabilizer. My guess is maybe a B-47 or a B-66 at the end of the row. Anybody else have a guess?

While viewing NBC Nightly News last evening I was dismayed; then not so surprised, when I saw Merrill McPeak supporting Obama:dry: Then, to add to my disgust, Hillary was bragging about landing on a hot LZ back in the \'90\'s. Oh my......this is going to get better and better.

This has been around a while, but a friend sent it to me this morning & I think it needs to be read again. Don R. YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN AN AVIATION MECHANIC IF YOU HAVE EVER WORKED AT OR DONE AT LEAST 1 OF THE FOLLOWING.......... Ever drank castor-oil -- and not because of your mother. Slept on concrete under your jet. Ever said, \"Oh, yes sir, it’s supposed to look like that.\" You know what a pointy head is. You consider \"2380\" finger prints on food an \"acquired taste.\" Have sucked O2 to cure a hang-over. You know what JetA1 tastes like. Used a black grease pencil to fix a worn tire. You have a better store\'s supply in your cove…

I read in an article that the MC-130W Combat Spear* airplanes, which are modified from H2s, have a reinforced back end to allow the HSLLADS. Does anybody know if the structural beef-up is the same as the Combat Talon I and the Combat Talon II airplanes, with extruded rails and doublers from FS737 to FS1041? *Combat Spear, no longer referred to as Combat Wombat
