I was a non-crew ground-pounder who only flew on C-130s a few times, but I always enjoyed listening to the engine start-up check list, and it was great fun standing at the paratroop doors and watching the "whoomph" from the tailpipe as the engine started. I've forgotten the order of the checklist. I remember "enrichment" and "ignition" and "generator on", but I've forgotten the exact sequence after the pilot (or engineer, or who?) says "Turning four". Can someone recite the engine start-up checklist once again, please? Thanks.

I have a plane that when doing engine runs 1 and 2 shut down normally and pressure bleeds down immediately. But booster side 3 and 4 i need to move flight controls in order to bleed it down. Any experiences with this for any of you? I thought maybe transmitter but pressure stays until flight controls depressurized it upon moving them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

We have experience a few incident of LH Aux FQI went to off-scale LOW on two aircraft. When open tank and found the Fuel Qty Compensator cracked and dislodged. Subsequent check found the bladder cell actually collapse as the strings tie the cell to the structure have given way. Have anyone experience this. Can the Aux Tank pump pressure caused the problem when the tank is empty ie. the pump running.

Greetings, We’ve been having an ongoing RTRU issue that only occurs in flight, usually a couple of times during touch and gos/takeoff. TR3 load will drop below 5, kick out a fail for 2-3 seconds then recover and go back to functioning properly. A few things we’ve changed include the TR unit, BIU, as well as the associated diode. Was curious if anyone has seen a similar issue or has any input on potential culprits. All meter readings weve checked have been good, as it does not fail on ground.

What could be causing a slow moving utility gauge. Pressure reads fine on aux pump, normal and emergency gauge. Just utility gauge shows hesitation. Transmitter and gauge have been replaced. Could it be the util accumulator? Thanks for the help.

Hi C-130 Forum, Could some one advise if Technical Order 6-1-111 "General Cleaning and Testing 1" is available, or has been replaced? This document is referenced in the Maintenance Data we hold. I am hoping that this document has been replaced by a Robins AFB TO for Public Access. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi!! Hope you are fine and well. Need to ask few information regarding the SATCOM used in C130. The Euronav RN7 working is not getting clear. Can you guide about the working of RN7? What medium it uses and the complete mechanism of its working? Facing few issues of its call, network and signals. I will be highly obliged if you can share all the information regarding RN7.

Question for you guys. I have a c130h transferring fluid from the aux system to the utility system. Ive replaced the Ground test valve and the utility system accumulator (which had a leak internally). Neither of those parts solved it and it is still happening. Thoughts on where to go from here?

Hello! We’ve recently ran into an issue on our C130J with a get home control panel lighting. The panel lights up and is fully operation with external power, however on just battery power the lighting is inop. It will still transmit, but the lighting is completely inop. We’ve ohms checked most associated wiring good, swapped get home control panels, BAU, as well as the emer lighting module to no avail. anyone have any experience with something similar or have any input? thanks!

We are experiencing a bit strange problem of single disc (mark-1) brakes not holding B-model aircraft at and above cross-over setting on all four engines. It is happening both in case of parking and pedal pressure braking. It is understood that single disc brakes were designed for T56A7 engines having take-off TIT of 970 whereas subject B-model is fitted with T56A15 engines having take-off TIT of 1085 (thus more torque). Brake assemblies, brake control valves, brake selector valves, brake accumulators, shuttle valves, relief valve have been replaced. Brake pressures have been found normal (1700-1800 psi in case of pedal pressure and 1500-1600 psi in case of parking brake)…

Hi Folks, great website here. I was wondering if anyone had some wording about the brake system, specifically the Description & Operation. I know the pilots press on the brake pedals and the plane slows down, but what happens in between? What sequence of events between the force of the brake pedal and the brakes operating? Thanks very much in advance!!
