I was at CCK from Mar. 1969 to June 1970, and was in the 314th OMS. I can't remember ever seeing a patch for the 314th. I am sure there was one. If any of you have one from that period, could you post a pic of it so I can add it to my album. Thanks, Ken Carlson

I just discovered this site and was wondering if there are any of "the guys" around that were stationed at CCK. I was a Loadmaster on the C-130E and was stationed at CCK between Feb 1967 and Jun 1968.

Hi everyone... I'm doing this on behalf of my father Joe Davidson. Trying to find the blanket orders with his name on them for VA benifits. He has prostate cancer and they will not give him the credit for being at CRB because he has no food vouchers or the orders that came with them. He has had 2 people that went with him to CRB to send in certified letters saying he was there at the same time with them even had his former supervisor send in a letter to no avail. The 2 people that was with him were Chuck Miller and his brother Al Miller they was on the 2nd sheet of the orders but my father was on the first sheet. If anyone knows of anybody who was in the Crew Cheif part o…

I was just curious what happened to all the C-130s that were assigned to Elmendorf AFB when they got C-17s? I would think they would stay with PACAF and go to Yokota, but I\'m not sure. Anyone know? I ended up doing a good bit of work on those bird in Afghanistan in 2005, but didn\'t enjoy it at all. They were pig compared to the ANG Herks. Thanks in advance, Jason

Since I only worked on the A,s the only thing I know about the 4 blade props is they have one blade more than the 3. Did the newer planes take off and climb out better than the A,s? Did they have as much vibration as the A,s? I have assumed they would cruse faster than the A,s, but I don\'t know.

Hi all Got a Q on this 4 engine roll back checklist. Lockheed Safety Supp C-130 No 64 Step 1 is Go to NULL on the TD's.. Step 2 is GO to Mech Gov on the props Step 3 is to Turn Sinc Master Switch to OFF It’s this step that gets me.. Why if you are already in Mech Governing do you need to turn the Sync Sw to Off?? especially when in the preamble it says Synicrophaser induced RPM reductions do not result in significant power loss Going to Mech Governing gets rid off all the Electrons out at the prop as why the sep 3 then??? Enquiring minds would like to know.. Chris

Hi Guys, I don't want to reinvent the wheel here. I have all my military photos posted here. http://picasaweb.google.com/billxmailman/AllMilitary# 1966-1970. I was based at Dyess, 347th and Naha Okinawa, 21st. 3 years 10 months 10 days in the AF. Last 6 months were spent in a leg cast and rehab. I was looking to do them here but it would just take a long time. If I get stuck in a real stretch of bad weather I'll start. There are airdrop, Blindbat, Vietnam, Ubon, Naha, paratroopers, Europe photos. Also Naha motorcycle club photos. Let me know when you have viewed them. Thanks, Bill

Hello, I was a GAC troop at Dyess from 91-96. I remember when we transitioned from AMC to ACC, the aircraft were allowed to have nose art. Does anybody have any photos of the nose art that was on any of the aircraft during that time? I remember a few of the aircraft having some pretty impressive artwork applied to them. If I recall, 1689 was "Gizmo" and had a gremlin painted on the side of it. Aircraft 1677 was Rubber Chicken, but I don't think Howie Jack ever got his nose art approve. Do anyone have any pics of these Herks? The reason I am inquiring, is that I would like to an in-flight model an ACC 40 AS Dyess Herk, but there's not a lot of photos on the intern…
