In January, the first AC-130H to AMARG 69-6570 arrived and another MC-130P 69-5823 arrived. Also interesting the only USAF C-130H in AMARG 74-2062 left. To where I don't know? Three Herks left: 63-7778 and 68-10934 went to beer cans in Tucson and the last A in AMARG 56-0494 left, probably to beer cans? Bob

I was just curious what happened to all the C-130s that were assigned to Elmendorf AFB when they got C-17s? I would think they would stay with PACAF and go to Yokota, but I\'m not sure. Anyone know? I ended up doing a good bit of work on those bird in Afghanistan in 2005, but didn\'t enjoy it at all. They were pig compared to the ANG Herks. Thanks in advance, Jason

Most photos I have seen of the J-model are without external tanks, but I have seen at least one J-model photo with externals (may have been a Brit). Is there a standard configuration, or is it by customer request?

Hello guys I am new in C-130 family and i would like to ask why in performance (about t-56-a15 engine C-130H) table with title “REFUSAL SPEED AND CRITICAL ENGINE FAILURE SPEED†we have 2 correction grid for wind (one for refusal and one for critical failure speed)? Also, why we have correction grid for “WITHOUT NOSEWHEEL STEERING†only for critical failure speed and not for refusal? I know that refusal speed based on runway available but how the wind influence in different form these two speeds. Thanks in advance for your time George

Anyone know the max bank angle for the C130?? Is 65 over the limit. I don't know where the number would be written. The old B-1 states "In executing turns under combat conditions, remember that 60 degrees is the maximum bank angle."

The book is titled "Runway Visions" and I do not have it right here in front of me so I can't give you the author, however, he was a C-130 pilot out of CCK and the book is more or less his recollections of his flying activities in and out of Vietnam. I haven't finished reading it yet, but early on he speaks of the engine start procedure and specifically mentions "turning #2 engine" first. Is that a typo? I recall ALWAYS starting #3 engine first. Any ideas out there?

Have seen a report of it flying with the 165th in December of 2012 but I can't find any images of it wearing KY ANG markings. In fact I can't find any images of 65-0984 after 2011! Thanks, Koen
