Heard about this yesterday on the news and a mil-air monitoring group. This is a 146th bird from Channel Islands at Peterson AFB, CO. Word that I had heard was "torque strut had broken" by looking at the picture I would say that the main strut broke and is hanging from the torque strut. In my 21 years crewing I have never heard or seen such a thing. http://www.gazette.com/articles/landing-116395-springs-airport.html Click on the "enlarge" for a better view. 73, Rex

Anyone seen this problem before, for a H3 96 model. Already swapped LCU's, swapped overhead lighting control panel(co-pilots side panel). I don't see anything else in the system no relays that effect them. Even pulled the MACAWS master c/b to default all lights to nvis but the indicators stayed bright. Something isn't telling the LCU to swap from norm to nvis, but what? Will break into wiring later...

Does anyone know of any problems with oil cooler back pressure. We have a customer that is suggesting that they have 20 psi pressure differential across the oil cooiler and it calls for 10 psi in the book. Has anyone had any experience in these problems. Problem is across the pond. Thanks in advance Mark

On a B model (no reservoir bypass) - During travel of flight controls or gear, utility pressure drops below 1000psi and both EDP and suct boost lites illuminate. NOT an indication problem (gear/flaps fails time check). EDPs, boost pump, boost pump supply hose, boost pump press switch, accumulator, relief and ground test valve changed out to no effect. Firewall valves check good. No mule available (hey, if it was easy....). Thoughts?

I have been looking into the C-130 Deicing proceedures in the FM and TO' s it took me all of 2 minutes,, I thought there would have been lots of info on how to deice a C130 before take off using type 1 deicing fluid. I couldnt find a CL for the crews, is there one?? I saw a great Aircrew CL for the C17, which got me to thinking , is ther one for a Herc? Chris.

Can anyone assist in obtaining information for the grey two piece ramp support / ramp stool that can be used on the C130. I am trying through official channels but need a little assistance. We have a couple already that we "obtained" from the Canadians years ago but need a couple more. (Photo attached) Thanks

We have an APU door opening issue. The APU door will not open unless you pull the touchdown relay C/B. I followed the FI and it leads me no where. I could really use some help. I am new to the APU I am us to GTC's.

Make sure the fuel vent outlet screens stay with the aircraft if they were removed by TCTO 1C-130-2080. See paragraph 5.1.4 of the TCTO. The screens will be installed when TCTO 1C-130-2082 is completed by DFTs.

Given the fact that there may be aircraft out there where the door will free fall and lock, is there anything in writing that requires it to do so? We can find nothing in any book that requires it to do so. All checks we perform and any mention of it in the -1 requires the switch to be set to the down position, which will lock this particular door.
