Looking for Travel orders with my name on it, one order is T121. I was assigned to the 776TAS from March 67 to July 69. I am trying to get my DD214 corrected. The Air Force did not always track our TDY assignments, thus those CRB and Tuy Hoa rotations didn't make it to the DD214. After a lot of reading and research I have come to realize that most of us that served at CCK and made those trips are missing that very important information. Our VA system won't give you an Agent Orange test/evaluation in less you can prove boots on the ground in Vietnam. Also looking for the following airmen Adley Eisen Doyle Frazer Raymond Ryan fist name? Last name Warren Th…

Been reading the Air Force Association 2013 USAF Almanac on the J Model performance. It says The range with 35000 lb payload is 1,841 miles and the J-30 with same payload, range is 2,417 miles. Where do they pick up 576 more miles of range with the same amount of fuel and engines but dragging the weight of 15 more feet of aluminum around? By the way who does the TOLD card on the J. He would know...right ? Bill

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums, but hope I can add some constructive content! To any active crew members out there: I've been reading a lot lately about USAF testing out iPads as electronic flight bags (EFB) for C-130 crews. It sounds like they are being used to replace paper manuals, checklists, and charts initially. Has anyone been issued an iPad? Any word on future plans for them, such as weight and balance, performance calculations, or other flight planning? Thanks!

Hello guys I am new in C-130 family and i would like to ask why in performance (about t-56-a15 engine C-130H) table with title “REFUSAL SPEED AND CRITICAL ENGINE FAILURE SPEED†we have 2 correction grid for wind (one for refusal and one for critical failure speed)? Also, why we have correction grid for “WITHOUT NOSEWHEEL STEERING†only for critical failure speed and not for refusal? I know that refusal speed based on runway available but how the wind influence in different form these two speeds. Thanks in advance for your time George

I just got through reading about the passing of Dan Wilson. Made me pause for a moments reflection. Since finding this site a few years ago I have become more aware of the role that the Herk and her crews have played in my life and just how much you folks out there mean to me. I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting, in person, two of you, and these new friendships are special. Giz calls us "brothers"; different mothers, but brothers just the same. So true!!!! And MTCrewchief: fellow photographer, outdoors man, and conversationalist!!!! You're special... Rest in peace Dan

Just got a phone call from Bob Flowers, a retired 123 and C5 loadie. Bob is about 70 and has many ailments associated with AO. I took him to the VA in Sept. of 2011 to get him signed up. He just got word that he's 100%, and it's retroactive to Sept. 2011. He's floored! It's a good day. Pat

I just posted this , and it disappeared. let me try again..........Like i said before, you gutys know my mind can wander all over the place and all kinds of crazy stuff pops up, so bear with me........Every thursday I do a volunteer day at the local hospital helpin' out at the diagnostic center there. Yesterday this guy comes in, has a basic parachutist badge tatoo, asked him about it, turns out i very well may have dropped him down at Bragg about a hundred years ago. We talked abiout jumpin' and chutes and herks and things like that. Later, somewhere out of th blue came a recollection about the "four line cut." Now this, as I remember, was supposed to, when acomplished,…

Just spoke to a good friend that just got back from Taiwan. Said they went to Taichung and couldn't recognize anything there! Said that it looked more liike Taipei than Taichung. Was so built up and so many people, even going all the way to CCK was now built up. Where there were once nothing but rice fields are now replaced with houses and commercial building. There was no trace left of the Dozen, Half Dozen, or Bar Town. Not to mention the cost of living was out of sight. Everything was very expensive now. I asked him to make me a copy of the DVD he made. If and when I get it I will post on here for anyone that might want to see it. Oh yes, Chang's motorcycle …

Watched Delta Force tonight. Chuck Norris, 1986 movie. Caught the numbers of the Herc they were using. Number 106 on the nose and 4X-FBB on the tail. The roundel looked strange, almost like a round picture. Thought it might be Israeli, since they were in Israel, but couldn't find anything when I searched the interweb. According to Airliners.net 102 is 4X-FBA, 382-4000 and 4X-FBC is 382-4530. I was just curious and thought some of our more astute members would know.

For all who were in Bangkok from 65-66. How many remember the Federal Hotel? In Dec 1965 I was there and staying around the Hotel the days we didn't fly we spent all day at the pool. Some would jump from the top of the Hotel into the pool. Jumping from the side into the pool was referred to as TAC Ledge, then the PACAF guys came in and jumped from the end over the diving board (very close to hitting it) referred to it as PACAF Ledge. I know we were young and dumb. One day our Capt noticed that someone had placed a teakwood boat just outside of the pool. WE all got together and put it over the fence, to check out and make sure it floated. This went on for about an …

So, any of you or FE's or MX guys remember going through some class and the instructors started talking about specific parts...and then they'd pass around said part so you could see it and touch it. " Here is how a speed switch works"..... and then they'd pass around a speed switch so everyone could see it.... Question is, where/how can I get these parts....and anything goes. I'd love a fuel control with the aft cover removed (so you can see the little wizard that makes the smoke and mirrors in there)....you know stuff like that. I'm prodding my MX friends and calling around to FTD Detachements etc....

Not the biggest story but not one that happens all that often. I'm sure many of you guys have some far more harrowing tales. http://www.kgwn.tv/story/22059264/c-130-makes-emergency-landing-at-cheyenne-airport

WARNER ROBINS -- For the first time in its 29-year history, the Museum of Aviation is downsizing. The museum is getting rid of 29 planes and three missiles, which is about a third of its total collection. Museum Director Ken Emery said the move is largely due to Air Force personnel cuts in 2011 that eliminated eight civilian positions at the museum, most of whom were restoration specialists. The museum doesn’t have enough personnel to properly maintain the aircraft, especially those outdoors, Emery said. “We’ve only been growing since we started,†Emery said last week as he showed some of the planes slated for removal. “This is really the first time w…
