http://globalaviationreport.com/2014/06/14/japanese-maritime-self-defense-force-to-conduct-familiarization-flights-at-d-m/ It looks like the Japanese are starting to roll out the old Marine R models they pulled from the boneyard. It looks like they old GTC was removed and maybe an APU installed in its place. Any how they are good looking birds.

This will be the 4th reunion we had and the first three were great. Hope everyone can make it. Bob GREETINGS TRASH HAULERS!!! Our reunion this year will be October 1-5, 2014 (that's Wed-Sun) in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It will be a joint reunion with the 463 TCW(CCK). Pigeon Forge is a major tourist destination with much to see, do and eat. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is next door (over 10 million visitors per year, the most of any National Park). The fall colors should be beginning to show for us. Plan to take the hotel up on their generous offer of extending our rates for up to a week on either side of the reunion dates …

While seeing a group of 6 loads last week, we all took notice of all the Agent Orange aliments we have. We came up with the idea to call ourselves members of "The Sprayed Roach Club". What do y'all think?

Hello, I fly C-130 in Argentina, I wonder if someone can enlighten me in this subject: We need to carry our liquid oxygen container (tube) in a mission. I understand it is forbidden to carry it full, but is it possible to have it empty with the proper vent valve? And if so, is it allowed to do it with passengers? Our manuals state that it cannot be carried in passengers aircraft, but ours is a military cargo/troop aircraft, so, there are grey points. I am searching in IATA and other sources. thanks Juan "calavera"

Iran got 64 Herks from Lockgreed They sold 9 of them to Pakistan. They renumbered them twice and according to Lars the last time they were renumbered they had 52 and the last number was 5-8552. In recent years there have been many pictures of 2 Herks with the numbers 5-8553 and 5-8554. I'll try to attach 2. Anyhow, does anyone know which 2 Lockgreed numbers these might be. Just a guess that they were among the 52 and were modified and renumbered but that is a guess. Can anyone help? Bob

Mick McGlothlen, Greg (Jeep) White, Richard (Mountain Man) Kosteka, Dan McMullen, Don (Speed) Spaulding and me, Pat (Weasel) Wylie. Can't send pictures due the WPP. That's the Witness Protection Program.

Saw a listing of the active duty C-130's today and saw where they have one each TC-130H. Was or is that the same Herk with the roto dome on it. It landed at Dobbins several years ago and I haven't seen nor heard of it since. Bob...anybody?? Bill

Just came from the Marietta Ga. Air Museum today. AC-130A 54-1623 c/n 3010 has been turned over to them by the AF museum and they are in the process of moving it out the back gate at Dobbins to their site. They are going to paint it in the colors along with the nose art "Ghost Rider" that it wore in VietNam as it has the 3 bladed props on it. Good to see it being given a home where it can be properly displayed and maintained. Will give updates as they occur. Will send Casey a pic or two to post as I gettem'. Bill:)

I'm looking for pictures of this install on 66-0217. It was on the aircraft in the late 80's. It consisted of a large block of flat formation lights on the aft fuselage in the form of a square with a "dash" in it...aft of the paratroop doors and I think there were some mounted on the IFR pylons. I found one distance picture on the internet, but nothing up-close. I've looked in the gallery and the only picture is from the wrong angle and the lights are 90% blocked in the view. Thanks.
