A couple of pics from Bobby hunter of 55-0012 derelict at Brooks AFB. Remember the weight and balance computers that never worked. Those and the angle of attack computers that never worked were really good buys. Also the A model refueling panel. Bob

Hello - My name is Ernie White, a member of the McChord Air Museum Foundation. A few weeks ago we rolled out our C-130 (62-1789) c/n [cn]3736[/cn] from the McChord Field Paint Hangar re-dressed as s/n 63-7788 as she looked while assigned to the 36th TAS at McChord in 1978. The new 7788 has been restored inside and out backdating her with a SEA paint scheme. Please visit our webpage http://www.mcchordairmuseum.org to read the restoration story and pictures. Thanks !

I corresponded with Lt Col Lars Olausson of the Flygvapnet for many decades and contributed to his most excellent Hercules Production List, but have not been able to contact him recently. Does anyone have any news of him? Thanks very much. Mark Sublette

Have a friend interested in buying a C-130A still equipped with the Aero Three blade props. Concerned about future parts availability and reliability. Seems they are a lost cause. RZHill

As a retired FE (military & commercial), I have a lot of time on my hands & am easily amused. One of my daily rituals is to come visit this forum. The last thing I do before signing off is to check any new member's profile. If I'm the first there, I feel I've accomplished something for that day. For those of you who don't check members' profiles, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. For those of you that do (Larry, Sonny, Mt crewchief, etc), you know exactly what I'm talking about, right? Don R.

I am trying to help someone looking into ANG Airlift Support Herks. Aircraft flown by ANG non airlift units, mostly fighter units. Years ago they were a way to replace the old C-131's/ T-29's flown by the ANG I made up a list with what I had notes on but I know I missed some. Any help would be appreciated. The letters at the end just refer to the model. I saw pictures of these two Peru L-100's on the net awhile back. Last i heard Peru had 5 L-100's left of which 2 were flyable FAP 397 4850 and FAP 382 4706. The other three are stored, I heard they are corroded. FAP 384 4715, FAP 394 4358 and FAP 398 4853 Anyone know which of the stored L-100's these pics are? Bob

Has anyone been to Greybull WY in awhile? This is a google earth image from last year. None of them are registered any more. The 6 visible herks are from the left The grey one is 3220 ex 57-0513 ex N8230H The next 2 wingless are 3218 ex 57-0511 ex N134HP and 3166 ex 57-0459 ex N135HP Then the green one almost in one piece is 3115 ex 56-0507 ex N132HP The one looking like it is held down by tires is 3143 ex 56-0535 ex N133FF And the one with just the forward fuselage is 3537 ex 58-0740. Anyone able to update this and has anyone heard what they plan to do with them? Looks like beer cans to me. Thanks Bob It appears that 57-0459 is to the left of 57-0511!

Robins Corrosion Flight (C-130 Paint) in Action 13 WMAZ Special Report http://www.13wmaz.com/story/news/local/robins-air-force-base/2015/02/26/behind-the-lines-painting-planes-a-patriotic-duty/24086755/ People recognize the grayish-blue of Air Force aircraft around the world. Many of those planes get their trademark color inside hangars at Robins Air Force Base. The people in the Corrosion Control shop call it their patriotic duty to put a top notch coat of paint on every plane. Inside Building 89, the hands of a 20-man crew fly over, around, and under the body of a C-130 aircraft. Its makeover in the paint shop is the last stop before she returns from maintena…

Ladies and Gents, Just wanted to post that the 29th Weapons Squadron (C-130H part of it anyway) has moved to St Joseph, MO. I've been in the WIC now for about 2 years and I volunteered to come up from Little Rock and help get it going. It's supposed to go full time to the guard in a couple of years, but it is great for this area to have it and for the AF to keep it as well. We just completed out first syllabus sortie up here, so the ball is rolling now. I only have about 3 years left until 20 and this assignment will take me there, so we'll see what happens. I've been chasing this old bird around the last few years and it's sad seeing it roll off into the histor…

I though you all might enjoy this article by Dan Rattiner at Dan'sPapers.com --Casey The dark green four-engine propeller plane lumbers slowly through the skies over the Hamptons. All of us are familiar with it. It’s seen about once a month sniffing around up there, banking into a slow turn over the ocean—one wing high, the other low—then leveling to head off over the hills of, for example, Bridgehampton. Soon, it’s off into the distance and gone. It’s been up there doing this for more than 20 years. It does seem impossible that those four propellers ca…

Just looking at the weather a couple places I was stationed Dover and Langley. Looking at the lows near zero and highs in the teens and twenties, sure am glad I'm not in that weather now. just don't know how all of us adapted.
