Does anyone have any pics of Ghost Rider as it appeared in the 1992/1993 time frame? I was a GAC troop at Dyess AFB and it diverted in late one night for an RT289 change. The Pro Super couldn't get a hold of the comm/nav weekend duty person so they called me since I had comm/nav cross training. So, technically, I can say I worked on a AC-130A. I have found a few pic on the internet, but I don't know if they are the right period. Some pics have an overall gunship gray paint scheme with four bladed props, while other pics of it have it in a Shamu paint scheme with three bladed props. It's been over 20 years and my memory of that plane isn't that great, I do remember the ai…

Anyone ever had this happen, either from a Benson tank, internal aux tank, or other source? Fuel under the floor and leaking out the belly of the aircraft from under the cargo compartment, front to back. What's the inspection protocol? Is there one? Any knowledge appreciated.

These two were towed to the airpark at Hurlburt today (15 Aug 2015). The AC-130H is 69-6575 (LM# 4349), the MC-130P is 65.0994 (LM# 4157). The gunship is on it's permanent pads, the papa will be pulled onto it's pads later (weather permitting...). Pictures taken under overcast skies in evening.

Back in 66 there was an accident at Dyess. 63-7886 crashed on a night low level. All on board were killed except one of the LM's A2C Gary Speer. The son of the FE wrote looking for info about the crash, also wondering about Gary Speer. Seems I remember he was still alive but "Old Timers"? Anyone have any info on Gary Speer? Thanks Bob

Hello, about the title "Tank open VS Power in c-130" i would like to now what type of procedure do you have. I have found some publications that say that we can put power in aircraft with tank opens, if the tank´s are drained to the greatest potencial. USAF Reference But in the manual which i use every day, says that before i open a tank i should take power out, that makes ALL the sense, and i don´t have any thing that says that i can put power before the tank is closed. What´s is your opinion, and in what base (publication) do you refere to? Thanks

I ran across this article "NASA C-130 lands, maintenance set " and although it says it was a USAF C-130, it is pretty evident that it was USCG. I thought NASA only had two 130s, c/n 4127 (65-0997) and c/n 4131 (65-0979). Anyone know when they received this aircraft (the article says 2013) and the c/n?

I stumbled on this video of a pictorial history of MC-130's on Youtube. This video has some awesome photography in it with pics of apparently all the MC's. Any of you guys that flew or worked on Black birds will appreciate this I think. I found the paint schemes over the years very interesting. Enjoy guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_axy1PDb48

A couple of pics from Bobby hunter of 55-0012 derelict at Brooks AFB. Remember the weight and balance computers that never worked. Those and the angle of attack computers that never worked were really good buys. Also the A model refueling panel. Bob
